Rome City Tour & Naples

Discover Rome today on a sightseeing tour of the Eternal City. Highlights include the Spanish Steps, the lavish Trevi Fountain, and the statues, fountains, and cobblestone expanse of the Piazza Navona.

Continue to Naples for an evening at leisure in this 3,000-year-old city perched 400 feet above the Mediterranean. Don’t miss out on a slice or two of genuine Neapolitan pizza! (B)

Naples & Embarkation (Departs at 8:00 PM)

Start your morning with a guided tour of Naples. Learn about one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, whose sprawling historic city center is UNESCO-listed for its wealth of outstanding monuments such as the Castel Nuovo. Your cruise begins this evening when you step aboard the MSC World Europa. (B, D)

Messina, Italy (9:00 AM - 7:00 PM)

Spend the day in Messina, one of the most popular cities on the breathtaking island of Sicily. Explore famous sites like the Piazza del Duomo, the city’s historic center, and the Messina Cathedral. The cathedral’s bell tower holds the world’s largest astronomical clock. When the clock strikes noon, you can enjoy an elaborate automaton where brass lions, roosters, and local heroes mounted on moving mechanisms tell a gripping story that’s entertained visitors for nearly a century. Valletta, Malta (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Valletta, one of the world’s smallest capitals, is so packed with history that the entire city is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, with buildings dating back to the 16th century. This fortified city has hundreds of monuments within a relatively small space, making it one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world. (B, L, D)

Barcelona, Spain (9:00 AM - 7:00 PM)

You’ll be mesmerized by this thoroughly modern city where Roman ruins live next door to highrises, innovative exhibition spaces, and one of the world’s most impressive sports complexes. A spectacular display of architecture, Barcelona boasts eight UNESCO World Heritage Site. Use your time in this port to see the world-famous Las Ramblas, Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia, Olympic Park, and views from Montjuic. (B, L, D)

Marseille, France (7:00 AM - 6:00 PM)

Marseille was first established in 600 BC, making it France’s oldest city. Among the terracotta-roofed buildings lie many intriguing sights, including the majestic Palais Longchamp and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde. (B, L, D)

Genoa, Italy (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)

Continue to Genoa, a port city which has maintained much its Renaissance charm over the centuries. Snake through its twisty caruggi, the narrow streets that make guests feel like they’re traveling back in time. The striking, ornate, UNESCO-listed Palazzi dei Rolli is a must see! (B, L, D)

Day 11

Disembarkation in Naples & Sorrento (Arrives at 1:00 PM)

After an afternoon disembarkation, continue to Sorrento for an evening at your leisure. Your hotel will welcome you in style with a refreshing drink when you arrive. (B, L)

Day 12

Amalfi Coast Full Day Tour

Enjoy the beauty of the Amalfi Coast, one of Italy’s most scenic regions. Towering mountains carpeted in green extend nearly to the sea, with villages and towns perched atop rocky cliffs. Far below, the warm waters of the Mediterranean lap against the shore. On your scenic drive, pause to take in sweeping views of the tiny cliffside town of Positano. Continue on to the town of Amalfi, where you will have some free time for lunch and souvenir shopping. To finish your day, embark on a short boat ride from Amalfi to the town of Salerno. Upon arrival in Salerno, your coach will provide your transfer back to your hotel. (B)

Pompeii Full Day Tour

Take a guided tour of Pompeii, the famous ancient Roman city frozen in time by the cataclysmic volcanic eruption of nearby Mt. Vesuvius in 79 CE. Later, explore the town on your own. Discover a great lunch spot or go shopping! (B)

Castel Gandolfo and Rome

Enjoy free time in Castel Gandolfo, a gorgeous resort town nestled high up in the Alban Hills. Overlooking Lake Alban, its beautiful surroundings and walled historic city center make this as appealing to visitors as Castel Gandolfo’s most famous resident: the Pope. Continue on to Rome, where you will enjoy a final farewell dinner this evening (included). (B, D)
